What You Need to Know

Packaging

So my wonderful Mammy crochets the cutest twine bags for Me Jewellies, she is in Dublin and is busy enjoying retirement with my lovely Dad. Therefore I may not always have stock of her wonderful bags. If it’s your first time purchase I always try and send your Me Jewellies in the crocheted bag otherwise you will receive your Me Jewellies in a gift box as in the picture on the home page.

How to take care of Me Jewellies

The best way to keep your Me Jewellies nice and shiny is to wear them. But do take them off if your doing the cooking, anything that can get your hands greasy. I would suggest taking them off, even doing your make up, putting on hand cream or any general housework etc.
It is important to take your jewellery off before going to bed...earrings may misshapen if you sleep in them and your fingers may swell during the night. And going to bed with a necklace on is just hazardous!
To bring back the sparkle in your piece it is advised to use a jewellery polishing cloth. But if you don’t have this, a simple solution would be warm water, washing up liquid and a soft toothbrush to gently scrub your silver or gold. Finally dry your piece with a clean soft cloth.

Returns/Issues

I hand make every piece with the exception of chains, clasps, ear posts and ear backs. If you have any issues with your purchase please let me know as soon as possible and I will amend this if it is within 28days of receiving your piece. You will be responsible for the cost of postage to send it back to me. I can of course accept returns once it is within 28 days of receiving your item. Unfortunately I cannot accept returns for earrings or personalized items unless they are defective.

As each item is individually made, pieces may differ ever so slightly from the images provided on my website. But fear not! They will be great! Maybe even better!! 🤩

Hallmarking

When selling jewellery made with precious metal it is a legal requirement to Hallmark the jewellery. I use sterling silver and 9ct gold, which will be hallmarked in Edinburgh Assay Office once over the exempt weight.  Below is the link for Hallmarking information.

How to care for your Gold plated Jewellies.

Pieces that have been plated Gold need some extra TLC. Over time the Gold may come away. To prolong the Gold life please remove the Gold plated pieces when you have a shower, bath, washing your hands, putting on cream or doing any general housework.Avoid any kind of moisture. Do not leave your Gold plated pieces in a steamy bathroom.

If you use a polishing cloth this will remove the gold plate. If your piece looks a bit dull, take a clean microfibre cloth and buff it out.

When you purchase any gold plated item you will receive a 1 time free polish and plate card, please keep this card. There is no expiry date on this card, you can use this whenever you want to polish and replate your piece. Just send me an email before and I will inform you where to post the piece. You will only pay for the shipping fee. When you have used this polish and replate voucher and would like use this service again, send me an email and I can quote a price for you. ☺️
